FRG – The Romanian-German Foundation, Centre for Vocational Training and Development Timisoara, in Constructions field, has been founded in 20 April 1992. Main achievements: 749 training courses with 11931 participants and graduates (3332 unemployed: 90%of the unemployed reintegrated) 5 new firms founded by graduates, collaboration with the notional Agency for Labor Occupation and the Labor Ministry, the county Lobar and occupational offices, training providers, local administration.
In addition to the initial role of the Foundation, in the last years its activity has been diversified in order to cover the diversifying needs of the labour market. We have 11 authorizations for courses - recognizes diplomas on the national level and short courses developed with companies. We heave a very good co-operation with more than 100 companies and institutions from Romania and 15 companies from foreigner countries. FRG is Member of EVBB (The European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training),Member of Private Education Promotion League in Romania;Member of EBSA "European Building and Services Association. FRG Timisoara has also taken part to important projects in the framework of the European programs: Phare PAEM (Program for Active Employment Measures – 1997), Phare 2000 –, Leonardo da Vinci, YOUTS.The project has a great interest for our organisation because in the last 3 years FRG Timisoara had worked with 50 youths (abt. 18 years old, from orphanage) in organized vocational training courses (bricklayers, plumbers) with the goal of their reintegration in work and normal life and also with 108 prisoners in the same direction – reintegration in work after the detention time. So not only the target groups learned something about being social competent. But also we became experienced in the field of the hard work of teaching social competences.
