Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT Sachsen-Anhalt is a complimentary network which was founded by teachers who wanted to extend their knowledge of the economy and the work environment. Since then representatives of education and economy compare notes in a voluntarily and permanently co-operation which is today more important then it has ever been. In a changing society young people must be able to overcome the difficulties actively and creatively. Therefore they do not only need knowledge about the terms of change or economical questions, but it is rather necessary to support them in their self-development and familiarise them with methods of self-directed learning and problem-solving thinking. The most important guidelines of SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT activities are:
· networking of regional and nationwide activities (exchange of experiences, discussion of projects, forward-looking pilot projects)
· the equitable partnership of schools and economy (dialogue on equal terms and win-win-situation for both sides)
· the diversity of themes and methods (themes range from vocational orientation to quality improvement in education)
· comprehensive offers of services and public relations (the preparation of informative literature and checklists and the organisation of periodically held lectures; quality, sustainability, continuity and effectiveness )
